Happy Eco News is growing rapidly and looking to become the go to source of positivity in the vast sea of unpleasant environmental news stories. We are looking for social media wizards to help us develop a social media marketing plan to increase awareness, engage our target market and nurture engagement. We would then like the plan to be implemented and maintained. Based on our goals, we are looking for the student(s) to work on the following: UX analysis of existing site Recommendations to make UX more positive Recommendations on WordPress theme (must be industry standard and fully supported) Implementation of plan Launch of redesigned website The goal is for the student(s) to help us analyze our current website and improve where necessary. We would like students to develop and implement a new website to reflect modern best practices and ensure a fast loading, responsive experience for our audience wherever they are geographically located. Database of Environmental Organizations 2

Happy Eco News is a not-for-profit entity focussed on disseminating positive news about the environment, in order to help alleviate the eco-anxiety all too common in society these days. We have 3 goals: Help alleviate eco-anxiety and climate grief by providing proof that all of the news is not bad. That there are good people doing good things, and there are lots of them doing it. Help promote the good people who are doing the good things. The people doing the work are not necessarily the best at self-promotion. Happy Eco News will help them get noticed and raise awareness of them, their projects, and their causes. Connect the good people who are doing good things with others like them. We want to help the people doing the work to reach each other and to reach the regular people who want to help if they can. We want to help grassroots activists share resources and raise money for worthy projects, scholars, and leaders. We do this for free and do not take any money from the charitable side of the organization. Instead, we will fund our operations via traditional web business models. Advertising, affiliate, and other web and IRL monetization tactics will ensure the business has resources to continue to do the good work as long as it is needed. We are growing organically and steadily and all the growth has been funded by the founder, Grant Brown. To reach our goals it has become apparent that we need to begin to generate revenue to offset the costs. The intention is to keep it free for anyone who wants to read it, so advertising revenue from commercial entities (that align with our mission and ethics) is our only option. We need 5x viewers and 5x subscribers to start generating meaningful revenue. We need to 10x these numbers to really start making an impact. Often, these groups are working in isolation, unaware of other groups doing the same type of project or with the same type of goals. Happy Eco Media intends to create a comprehensive searchable database of all of these people and organizations with the intention of connecting them in order that they are better able to share resources, knowledge, and influence. The Database of Environmental Organizations project will require participants to search the internet for credible environmental organizations starting locally in Canada and expanding to the USA and other parts of the world. They will reach out to these organizations by email or phone to collect data such as name, number of staff, contact information, location, type of project, etc. The database will require a web-based interface to allow search by people from external organizations. The interface must have security features to prevent abuse and fraud. The database must also be able to be reconfigured to add features in the future, and all information must be able to be exported easily into an industry-standard, non-proprietary format. All costs to host and develop the database will be borne by Happy Eco Media.

Brand video for Happy Eco News, the only online source of positive news about the environment. A 3 minute cinematic video consisting of narration, drone, and interview style shots explaining the Happy Eco News brand and philosophy. The video will reside on our YouTube channel, home page of our site and will be featured in a variety of social media campaigns. Will require: Script writing (working with founder Grant Brown). Storyboard outline of shots Video and Audio editing Use of original and stock footage Filmed on location in lower mainland BC or Vancouver Island regions. 1080P DJI drone is available to be used.

Happy Eco Media intends to create a comprehensive searchable database of all of these people and organizations with the intention of connecting them in order that they be better able to share resources, knowledge and influence. Happy Eco Media is a not-for-profit that is dedicated to; 1) helping people overcome eco-anxiety in the hope that they are inspired to take positive action, 2) help promote good people doing good things, and 3) help these good people connect with others. The Database of Environmental Organizations project will require participants to search the internet for credible environmental organizations starting in Canada and expanding to the USA and other parts of the world.
