Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Learners in this program/experience will have the knowledge and skills to manage projects in fast-changing environments. Students will be able to apply agile philosophy/methodology in different industries/domains including, but not limited to, technology, product development/improvement, sales and marketing, manufacturing etc. The course will provide hands-on experience to apply the agile principles, methodologies, frameworks, techniques, and tools to manage the projects.

Through this NAIT course, students have focused on Public Sector (Government, with a focus on Financial Reporting and the application of public sector (government) accounting, budgeting and financial reporting principles and methods. Areas of our students' expertise include public sector CPA Handbook accounting standards and public sector GAAP, government budgeting and planning, government and not-for-profit financial reporting and financial analysis, including public sector auditing. The course has enabled students to effectively explore the application of decision making and communication skills including developing critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Financial statement users’ needs and decisions have been examined, and the principles of the accounting cycle have been explored. Specific elements of financial statements have been assessed, with the related accounting principles discussed. Financial statement analysis and internal control evaluation will supplement and support the exploration of financial reporting.
