- Description

Since 1917, PC has taken pride in being a Catholic and Dominican institution of higher education — one for those who seek truth, celebrate the relationship between faith and reason, and pursue these values in a loving, diverse, and inclusive community.
As the only U.S. college founded and administered by Dominican Friars, we’re attuned to the need for meaning, connection, and purpose in business and life. Students don’t just learn the foundations of business — they learn how to collaborate, how to discern what matters, how to define success on their own terms. This unique education — based on the power of “we” rather than the power of “me” — makes our graduates indispensable to employers and personally fulfilled. The school of business is AACSB accredited.

MGT 320
Providence College is pleased to offer an innovative experiential learning opportunity through our Human Resource Management course. Our undergraduate students are equipped with a foundational understanding of HR concepts, including job analysis, recruitment, selection, employee management, and compensation. This course is designed to foster theoretical knowledge and provide practical skills applicable to any professional role, and at its core, to walk students through the employee life cycle from attraction to separation. Students in this course participate in hands-on activities, including a competitive team-based HR simulation and your Riipen project. They are proficient in HR management issues and principles and have developed strong teamwork, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities. For the project, we would prefer a company that operates on the East Coast so students can be in the same time zone as the project managers.
