Skilled Conflict Management, Mediation and Dispute Resolution (Humber College)

ADR 5120

Flexible

Overall Info: Welcome to Humber College, where we are committed to nurturing the next generation of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) professionals. Our intensive one-year program spans three semesters, equipping students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and ethical foundations necessary for success in the field of conflict resolution. At Humber, our focus extends beyond traditional academia; we emphasize experiential learning, ensuring our students are prepared to tackle real-world challenges with confidence and competence. Steps for Matching: Match Request Submission: Businesses interested in collaborating with our students can submit a match request outlining their project requirements. Subsequently, the professor will engage in a discussion with the employer to evaluate the project's suitability, preferably via a video call. Pre-approval: Upon mutual agreement between the educator and the employer, both parties will confirm the match on the Riipen platform. It's important to note that this stage serves as pre-approval, signaling intent to collaborate. Educator & Students Choosing: Pre-approved projects will be made available for students to select based on their interests and career aspirations. Students have the autonomy to choose projects they feel aligned with, promoting a personalized learning experience. Collaboration Starts: All communication and collaboration will take place on the Riipen platform, providing a centralized space for educators, employers, and students to interact, exchange ideas, and track progress. Ideal Partner: We seek partners who offer practical experiences that complement our students' academic achievements while contributing to their professional development as ADR practitioners. Ideal projects will address areas such as principled negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and system design within various contexts, including legal, healthcare, employment, and community settings.
