Project Examples

Requirements

Chemical Process Engineering Technology is a three year cooperative education program providing students with both the knowledge and practical skills necessary to begin their career as competent process operators and chemical engineering technologists. Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period, May 10 - August 27, 2021. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the co-op work term, and gives the student your company.

Co-op students will be able to:

  1. Assist in safe and efficient design, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of chemical process equipment.
  2. Monitor and optimize petroleum, petrochemical, water and wastewater treatment processes.
  3. Establish and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing established safety standards, policies and procedures.
  4. Work with other technologists, engineers and skilled trades persons to develop innovative solutions to problems in chemical process industries.
  5. Work and communicate as members of a team with other professionals.
